REPLACED

The highly anticipated cyberpunk melee action platformer REPLACED has been delayed yet again, with the game now slated for a 2025 launch. The retro-futuristic title from Ex-devs Studio was initially delayed to 2024 after the game missed its projected 2023 release window following the war in Ukraine, which unfortunately saw one of the developers having their locations destroyed.

Tragically, Sad Cat Studios developers revealed that the game would take even more time as the latest update may see a 2025 release window.

What REPLACED A Tear And In This Process

REPLACED will be released for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on Steam as well as the Epic Games Store when it comes out. It will also include the game in Xbox Game Pass, which could expand its reach to a wider audience.

REPLACED, which sees action combat and style mashed up with pixel art in a grim dystopian vision of the 80s has certainly caused controversy. The 2.5D side-scroller tells the story of R.E.A.C.H., an artificial intelligence trapped unwillingly inside a human form. The game is said to have a rich narrative experience while featuring retro aesthetics and modern gameplay mechanics.

A Glimpse into the Future

Even so, anticipation for REPLACED is still hot now following a recent spotlight at Summer Game Fest earlier in the year. The game will also be playable at Gamescom for fans eager to try the new title.

The long development time shows that Sad Cat Studios plans to deliver a well-rounded and unforgettable experience fans, even if it means the fans have to wait a little longer. Having targeted the last quarter of 2024 as its release window, developers are looking to polish every square inch of this game up now that it is free for them not having a direct target in mind.

More Details To Come

With the hype continuing to grow, fans are urged to keep a lookout at social pages and community sources for any upcoming news from developers. Sad Cat Studios has committed to providing regular updates and behind-the-scenes glimpses throughout development so players can stay in touch during this next phase of production.

In the meantime, REPACED is still on its way and those behind it are putting their heart in soul into pronouncing the finished product. Stay tuned for further news and updates leading up to the 2025 release, and get ready for a dystopian universe that is unlike any other.
