Elite, in and of itself has the opportunity to be utterly polarizing one way or another… but for those who would prefer traditional gaming experiences not all is lost — CD Projekt Red hasn’t gone completely off their collective rockers. The studio has a few high-wattage projects on the horizon:
- The Witcher Remake: A next-gen vision of the first game in the series, bringing a classic title to new audiences with a detailed remake.
- The Witcher: Blood Origin -Set in an elven world 1200 years before the woofers of Geralt time (Project Sirius), featuring new characters, and fresh stories from The Continent.
- Project Orion (working title) – A new project in the Cyberpunk franchise, this time specifically being developed with lessons learned from 2077.
- Project Hadar: All new IP with the start of a whole other universe for fans to discover
The Future of CD Projekt Red
What is clear from this latest business strategy of CD Projekt Red – and a few more before that too – they are an innovator as well as a fan-service-whipper. To reach a broader audience and bring something that one expects from Obsidian – deep, single-player storytelling in the digital space – branching into mobile gaming and media adaptations is where they are headed.
