Wuthering Waves announcement! Publisher Kuro Games has today announced Version 1.3, due to drop on September 29. It also teases a whole bunch of new characters, weapons, and regions to explore – which will be one of the most impactful content drops for this action-packed RPG. Check out what they are and when can you expect them in the game.
A Look Back: Version 1.2’s Success
On March 30th, I published version 1.2 of my puzzle platformer Dust to the Wind, and it was a success!
But before we get into what 1.3 brings, here is a quick reminder of the notable features in the latest release (Version 1.2) Version 1.2 “In the Turquoise Moonglow” (Aug. 15): Adds fan-favorite 5-star characters Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao In addition to the new weapons ─ Rime-Draped Sprouts and Verity’s Handle─players were greeted with other quests, events, and a continued expansion of the Depths of Illusive Realm storyline.
Given the strides taken in version 1.2, pressure is on version 1.3 to continue the advances made so far.

The New Stars of Version 1.3: The Shorekeeper and Youhu
Version 1.3 sees the arrival of two new characters, which is a pretty big deal as far as updates go. The Shorekeeper is a five-star Spectro Rectifier that can change its shape into a butterfly during fights. Given that the last trait is rarer than other common Jungle Trait (Blast) and both of his Ults are clipped interaction abilities, The Shorekeeper is set to best way for both indoor players and regular Junglers.
Added to the roster is Youhu – a four-star Glacio Gauntlet Resonator – whose ability to alter her moveset and battle outcomes on the fly has earned her versatile team status. Certain players are speculating what kinds of combat strategies these two characters might mere minutes after the announcement.

Each of these characters will have their own signature weapons, The Shorekeeper comes equipped with the Stellar Symphony and Youhu prefers to use the Deep Sky Blazer. This should bring depth to the gameplay and provide players with additional strategy possibilities instead by using these levels of tools.
New Region: Black Shores
In addition to a beacon skill rework, version 1.3 debuts the Black Shores archipelago as a new explorable area. From the darkest stories imaginable to the most foreboding of mysteries, these are some of the rich pickings just waiting to be unearthed native ground. Unravel the mysterious past of the Black Shores or take on their fearsome enemies – with a host of new content this one should be ripe pickings for players.
You can also continue with the main story with Chapter 1, Act 8 and learn a bit more about the Black Shores and their leader. This deeper dive into the lore of Wuthering Waves is sure to make fans of its narrative very happy.

- Battle Simulation: Take on formidable adversaries in high-risk,high-reward simulations, or settle for a little match practice.
- Rewards for 7-day login event: Gifts of Sea Breeze
- The new Echo: Fallacy of No Return is one such fearsome foe, able to appear on the fringes of the physical world and digital reality. With a massive hammer, this Echo is going to be tough for pro players.
Meanwhile, two new Phantom echoes: the Gulpuff and Lumiscale Construct will diversify the game’s combat while also being a bit more to it.
What’s Next? Leaked of 1.4 and Future Rumors
While there isn’t anything official on what comes next, rumors are already starting to heat up for 1.4ें According to leaks, version 1.4 will be bringing with it two new characters: a Havoc sword user in Camellya and a broadblade user Dengdeng. He has also implied that Jinshi and Sanhua who are already in the game will each be receiving a new skin.
However, as has always been the case with leaks, please take what is said above with skepticism, irrespective of how big a reveal these may seem like. Still, the version 1.4 speculation plus possible last update before Wuthering Waves 2.0 has folks thirsty for more news.
