PC got one of the most awaited features to its edition, Baldur’s Gate 3 fans have exploded with delight as Patch 7 was launched for whoever uses PC and offered them a new “Mod Manager” benefit.
Offering this functionality permits players to freely browse and install a multitude of community-created mods that can cater to whatever specific idea around customization/having enhancements for better gameplay wins you over.
Mods have been a part of PC gaming culture for years, allowing developers to craft mass experiences and tweak their formulas without having to wait for an update. And the results of this new venture have been downright mind-boggling, you just need to see the numbers.
Not even two days after the September 5 launch of the patch, Larian Studios’ took to social media to announce that more than a million mods were already downloaded in less than 24 hours. The tale extended even further — within the day, over three million mods were installed on its pages in-game… and that was just one single page giving you an idea of how massive it is.

The modding madness is exclusive to the PC crowd, however, as the patch for console players has yet to be released. Console players will still have to wait until the update rolls out, but they’re about to be able to dive into modding and see what wild creations Baldur’s Gate 3 fans can think up.
That prototype of a Happy Mod Manager(pictured) will probably encourage even more players to take up modding. This could be a simple cosmetic change, such as a new outfit for characters like Karlach or Asterion, which would fit into the game world without disrupting lore.
In a positive sign of the dedication and commitment from fans, modders are delving into dev code for what Neo teases will be some revived “lost content” that did not make it to production.
So if you have been sitting on the fence with wanting to start modding or something along those lines, perhaps now is the perfect time. Considering how many people are using mods I could imagine it becoming hugely popular. The gathered Baldur’s Gate 3 modding community is flourishing and there never has been a better time to jump right in.
