It should provide some of you with the Welcome News; Activision has said that it will be overhauling how its downloads work for Call of Duty, promising to optimize storage requirements in the popular but very user-unfriendly COD: Hub. But there is one more major update you must get through before reaping the benefits.
In a recent blog post titled “Optimizing the Call of Duty Experience: A Roadmap to Black Ops 6 Launch” Activision recognized many fans’ year-over-year groans of the bloated storage demands imposed on their systems by the Call of Duty Hub. This means that going forward, players won’t have to download the Call of Duty:
Warzone in its entirety with random other games and can choose which specific ones they want. Because this also means that if you’re not a Warzone lover, then its storage space won’t take up what is certainly valuable bandwidth.
Alongside this, one of the major changes is in the new texture streaming system introduced. Rather than force players to download high-resolution textures for the games-Activision had previously been doing just that, resulting in bloated downloads-

the newer titles will arrive with lower-quality textures enabled by default, and higher-res versions streamed directly from Activision servers as you play. This is meant to help reduce the size of that first download and keep it from taking up as much space on your device.
As good as the changes sound, some players may still want additional means to customize their experience. So, for instance, users with top-end PCs might always prefer to download all their high-resolution textures up front rather than have them streamed. It would also help if players could download games modularly, opting to install just parts of it like the campaign or multiplayer modes Viagra 25 mg sans ordonnance.
Of course, these changes will not occur overnight. To employ the new system, Activision has announced that everyone playing Call of Duty that day will need to download a major update on Aug 21 into their Call of Duty Hub. This refresh will restructure the game files on Xbox consoles, allow you to remove Call of Duty:

Warzone if needed, and add a new streaming texture technology. For PS5 players, this download page is divided into four downloads and 3 GB the first time you get to it. For other consoles and platforms, they are single files of up-to-15 -GB each. The good news is that shortly, you will see a much smaller Call of Duty Hub on your console.
However, Activision has not released details on the size of this update-and by extension, the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 download just yet. This is a matter of them still transitioning, but hopefully, they will inform you more soon.
Activision has yet to deliver on those promises but if they are successful, then it could be a game-changer for the half of players who suffer from lack of storage. For weeks, fans have been speculating what these changes meant but with this official announcement also came one thing data miners could not possibly predict: Activision indeed got more interested in keeping the title a bit lighter on disk space while still trying to keep it up to date.
Although a massive download remains the final hurdle, it seems like an appropriate trade-off to make given how big its long-term benefits really are. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is incoming, so players can also look for a smoother gameplay experience on the horizon as well.
