However, the upcoming closure by Sony of Concord this week sees players scrambling to obtain that holy grail, the Platinum Trophy before it becomes lost forever. The strategy? Throwing themselves off cliffs in the game to get XP the old-fashioned way.
And yet, why the frantic jump overboard? Some 100s of thousands of XP are between you and the Platinum Trophy, assuming you reach Reputation level 100.
The quickest method to bank these points is by playing in Rivalry matches, a game type where cheaters have been very creative: intentionally losing games (and not getting any deaths) but jumping off the map. This speeds up the XP grind for both parties while allowing each team to benefit from the double XP.

For those remaining in the final days of closure, this is being used to get as much time out of Concord before it closes.
Each round of this simple Rivalry match is over in moments so players should specifically be flying through the ranks of that elusive Platinum badge. Its fast-paced gameplay means a game can be over in 30 seconds, resulting in quick XP.
It never felt destined for greatness from the very start, and now there are reports that – after what Life is Strange developer Dontnod referred to as a “launch with low player numbers” last month followed by mixed reviews on PS5 and PC –
another prospective title’s future could be in doubt. The game may well return and make the jump to free-to-play but for now, fans are soaking up there final moments with specific goals in mind before it shuts down.
While the clock is winding down on Concord before it pulls up stakes, players are giving it their all with a combination of clever tactics and determination as they look to earn their prizes while there’s still time left in town.
