FINAL CALL Dead by Daylight: A Nightmare on Elm Street – All Changes from PCInvasion 3Dead by Daylight is still evolving its characters and mechanics as the gaming world gears up for Castlevania crossover.
The new patch sees some drastic changes coming to The Dark Lord -Dracula himself – not least because of several tuning updates for both The Knight and Nemesis. The changes are already in the Public Test Build (PTB) version of the game so that players can explore it before the practice run Castlevania event lands.

Improved mobility and attack effectiveness to Dracula of The Dark Lord
Castlevania adds the original king of all vampires to its ranks with Dracula and Capcom has made a few changes for this villain to be better used as well as being more effective during play, making him one of the most anticipated characters in next update! The idea is to make Drac’s powers more seamless and reactive so the player can have a ton of control in those high -octane, twitchy gameplay moments.
Core Changes to the Dark Lord
- Increased Movement Speed After Hellfire Cast: Dracula gets 2% movement speed at level following a Hellfire cast, so he will be able to chase or reposition faster (1.48m/s -> 2 m/s).
- Hellfire Charge Time: Reduced Hellfire ability charge time from 1 second to 0.9 seconds. This change allows the ability to be deployed faster, making it a more responsive and aggressive attack option for players.
- DraculaWolf Form Enhancements: The base movement speed of Drac’s Wolf form has been increased from 4.4 to 4.6m/s and mustering Haste with the Scent Orbs will further raise that number to 4.8 m/s, while the Pounce attack cooldown is shortened from a full half-minute down up until every other two tensome seconds; also on top of those changes there won’t be any more cancellations in collisions after an initial Power Actized touchdown landlubber phase as happened prior during regular use.
- Dev Notes for Dracula: The devs said these changes were to fine-tune the attacks, especially their transitions. The increased movement speed and decreased cooldowns are meant to help open up Dracula a little, as it encourages more versatile play instead of feeling trapped in that old waiting game.

The Nemesis: Fine-Tuning for More Deadly Tentacle Strikes by Gorefiend
Fan-favorite character Nemesis has also been gifted with tweaks designed to make the killer more lethal and thus useful in the game. These alterations serve to make The Nemesis a tougher opponent, especially early in the trial.
Key Changes to The Nemesis929
- Like so: The range of The Nemesis’s 3rd Mutation Rate Tentacle Strike increased from 6m > 6.5m The slight increase allows for more reach, therefore the attacks can become a little more strategic.
- Tentacle Strike Cooldown Reduction: The cooldown after a successful Tentacle strike has been reduced from 2.5 seconds to 2.25, allowing the player to chain attacks faster and keep pressure on Survivors
- Dev Notes on The Nemesis: The developers stated that they made these changes to help the nemesis have a better start earlier in trials. Now having improved Tentacle Stike is going to increase the potency of this ability, further incentivizing timing and range management.
The Knight-Guard Mechanic Overhaul & Strategic Adjustments
THE KNIGHT: The Knight has been heavily revised to make his play and guard mechanics more balanced a heroic role. The idea of these changes is to increase the strategic element and allow them some control over when they deploy each guard.
Major Differences with The Knight
- User Cooldowns on Guards: The user cooldowns for each of Knights guards have different measures (The Assassin – 30 s, The Jailer -25s), and (Carnifex -20sec). This might make you swap in and out of the guards based on the situation rather than just sticking to one, stronger guard all-around.
- Guard Summoning Changes – When summoning a guard, it will cause any other guards to despawn so there can be no more than one at the time.
- Basic Attacks against a patrolling guard will reduce their respawn cooldown to 10s, enabling them to redeploy quicker
- Dev Notes on The Knight: we noticed the popular mechanic that brought more guard uptime back in struggle moves from the last PTB, though unintended. They are looking to expand The Knight, better distributing his cooldowns and enabling more dynamic play from the character with a new set of separate cooldown implementations.
Exultation: A Future Update to Reward Player Efforts
Wrapping up the current patch notes, the developer also announced an upcoming change where future updates will modify how players keep upgraded items after trials as well. The change, which will be included in an upcoming minor patch that aims to improve upon player feedback, sees the way players’ lives are on view rewarded for securing powerful items over many hours of gameplay.
Future Update
Getting rid of the Item Retention Condition – This has long been a condition that prevented players from carrying over upgraded items after surviving their assigned trials. This way, players will be able to retain the items that they put in thousands of hours leveling up by yet another reward layer.
Developers have addressed the community feedback that players should be able to keep items they earn by making this change, with subsequent episodes more strongly encouraging item upgrades in set trials.
