Taash: Failing By Big Numbers to a Qunari Companion
One of the trailer boasts Taash as one of the “powerful” warriors – from a new BG I part bringer called Qunari. Unique combat style of dragon hunter adds new set of skills to player party, primarily for use against strong opponents such as dragons. Fans are sure to find a place for her in the new cinematic, and many have taken notice already with how much they wish to see this backstory that’s been clouded by rumour revealed!
As seen in the trailer above, that combat revolves around Taash fighting alongside the player’s character Rook and another companion, Lucanis. Their opponent is a Blighted Dragon by the name of Corius the Icetalon. This battle is highlighted as a main event in the trailer, and Taash really comes into his dragon-slaying element whilst helping to bring the behemoth down. The tactical teamwork showcases the fast-paced combat system akin to the games.

The Mighty Grey Wardens Back Again
We aldo get a glimpse of the Grey Wardens. They were one of the heroic factions central to the plot of Dragon Age: Origins. But they have taken a bit of a back seat to the other factions in the series over time. In The Veilguard, those same heroes appear to be getting thrown back into the fray as well, with their long forgotten knowledge of Darkspawn putting them in a position where they are once more needed.
The trailer alludes to a greater tie between the Blighted Dragons and the Grey Wardens’ nemeses of old, so it seems their battle is not quite ended yet. The cast member Davrin is a participating Grey Warden, and this would seem to hint at the fact that the faction has possibly regained its foothold in the grand story. This will no doubt be welcome news for Greay Warden aficionados who have longed to see the group return to it’s series hero pedestal.
Antonio Samuel · 3 minutes ago A New Saga Begins for BioWare and Dragon Age
There’s a lot of excitement for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but also a lot riding on it given the potential impact success could have on the franchise and BioWare as a studio. The existence of the game has been through many delays and slips, with BioWare recently having a string of difficulty, underscoring by a few of its more modern launches. Fortunately, The Veilguard might be the game that signals a new chapter for the developer and reboot Dragon Age for modern times.

The footage of the trailer being action-packed along with the fan favorite factions including Grey Wardens, it has created some high expectations. Combining the series’ tried-and true elements – lore, interesting companions and complicated combat mechanics – with these aspects of DA4 that have probably added together, one could hope for a recipe that will appeal to both old fans and those who are new to the franchise.
What This Means for Dragon Age Fans
As the October 31 release date approaches, anticipation only grows. Although there are still questions about how choices from prior titles will be taken into account within the game, particularly now that the original Dragon Age Keep has been retired, the general sentiment surrounding The Veilguard is pretty hype. And the latest trailer has only served to heighten that excitement, showing off a little more of the world fans can expect to dive into soon.
It only begs the question, will Dragon Age: The Veilguard actually live up to all that? Based on what we have seen so far, it certainly holds that potential. For a franchise many wrote off after the divisive reception of Dragon Age Inquisition, and Andromeda before it, if these details are legitimate in any way, this could be just what the doctor ordered for both BioWare and their storied RPG series.
Fans will have to wait a little longer to find out. However, if the new trailer is anything to go by, The Veilguard could be the Dragon Age of old that many fans have been hoping for.
