Henry is back – but you’ll have to wait

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Henry is returning in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 as a more customizable character, heading back to the richly detailed world of Bohemia, circa 1403 . Different classes such as knight, thief, and scoundrel will be available for the players to choose from.

The company says it has a solution to that in the form of an immersive candy-land environment, but you’ll have to wait even longer for this. Here’s the comment made on Twitter by Warhorse Studios PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling:

“We aimed to deliver it for the end of this year but tough luck almost means not enough! Stolz-Zwilling did, however, say that fans can look forward to a new gameplay trailer being showcased at Gamescom this month and details on the Collector’s Edition as well as previews from the press and content creators.

A Bigger Sequel

Kingdom Come: Deliverance was known for its attachment to realism and true-to-form clothing, weaponry, combat skills, and architecture of the time. But despite the large price tag, it had issues mainly rooted in its technology. The team at Warhorse Games has listened to these comments though, and they remain committed to making a sequel that provides more than the original.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, say the developers we spoke to this week, is building the game they imagined six years ago but were unable to completely deliver with their blend of inexperience and no real experience.

The sequel will be much larger with a new land of 5 hours of cutscenes while the original game had only 3 and a doubled size overworld map.

A Quick Look at the Original Success

Kingdom Come: Deliverance was released in February 2018 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One and quickly became a fan favorite that collected over six million copies sold by the time it hit another milestone (via GameSpot) back in February of this year. A Nintendo Switch port that dropped in March 2024 only served to widen access.

For now, players will just have to be content with the release date of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 on February 11, 2025, and return occasionally to medieval Bohemia.
