ToggleLooney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports hopes to channel some of the classic sports games, while giving it a goofy twist for nostalgia fans. In the meantime, old-school fans of games like Tiny Toon Adventures: Wacky Sports Challenge or Looney Tunes B-Ball on the SNES may get a little giddy over this new title. However, does it do the franchise justice or drop the ball?
Bamtang Games has combined four iconic sports – Basketball, Golf, Football (Soccer), and Tennis, encompassing some of the most beloved Warner Bros. wrestle cartoonist’s riotous competitors. It does have some reminiscence value, but the way this game is put together will fail in many aspects.
Retro styling with a side of cumbersome (5.50)
On the surface, Wacky World of Sports offers great nostalgia with a classic roster full of Looney Tunes favorites. Featuring original cast performances: Bug Bunny, Daffy Duck and all the rest with the same voice actors: Fred Tatasciore, J.P. Karliak, Jeff Bergman along side some new talent. The game holds true to the zany spirit of those original cartoons with its bright colors and whimsical soundtrack.

But the character designs don’t make any good with the game’s cel-shaded 3D art style. The jerky animations and drab visuals are a step down from the lively, fluid motion that fans will presumably remember. The Mario Tennis and Mario Strikers series are much more polished than Wacky World of Sports, and it shows in how slow and clunky it feels.
Alternatively: The Sports Lineup: Home Run or Strike Out?
Filled with power-ups, super moves, and ACME-themed chaos, every sport is guaranteed to deliver an extra edge. From setting off a long-range 3-point shot in Basketball to evading explosions on a Golf course, the cartoon capering is present. Does it, though, make the game fun? This is where, things becomes messy.
Of the four sports, golf is likely the most enjoyable. By letting players concentrate on strategic shots rather than clunky movement issues, it escapes some of the stiffness that plagued its control. Golf is differentiated by placing ACME traps and dynamite into the equation which in turn adds som elaughter to the mix as a standout mode.

Less pleasant are tennis, w here hitboxes lack reliability and shots frequently fail to land where you want them. It is an amusing distraction, but the novelty does wear off after a while.
Basketball and Football, on the other hand, is where the game truly falter. You command a bunch of toon critters that controls as like the sinking-tugboat-pretending-to-be-speedy pile of poop it really is. Those special abilities, as charming as they are in concept, just mess up the gameplay too much and these matches become a bit chaotic to really be enjoyed. These two modes, barmy power-ups or not, feel woefully undercooked all the same.
Chaos OnLineMultiplayer Mayhem or Solo Frustration?
There was the faintest glimmer of hope for Wacky World of Sports in multiplayer. While the single-player experience is dated for a number of reasons you can more easily forgive those failings when pummeling friends with pie.
But the omission of online play makes Josh think that a key piece of Overcooked 2 is missing, and a bad batch of AI means that single-serving play is more punishing than it should be.
Lasting Impressions: Fun but flawed
Download Looney Tunes Wacky World of Sports for the die-hard cartoon fan, but its lack of polish and smooth gameplay will keep it from competing with other sports games. Comes with free enjoyment of the chaos, especially in multiplayer, but the loose controls and random-appearing visuals likely keep it from being recommendable.
It may be worth a go for die hard Looney Tunes fans, but I wouldnt expect anything groundbreaking from this game.
