The Games Journalist – S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl turns out to be hitting about a full frame rate tier higher on Xbox Series S than originally reported at around 35 frames per second (FPS), which was a mix-up that raised some eyebrows last week.
Speaking with WCCFTech, GSC Game World Lead Producer Slava Lukyanenka first said that the game was then running at “at least 25 FPS” on Xbox Series S – but he later backtracked (somewhat) in a Twitter message saying it had been his mistake.
To be clear on my thoughts, I said something at the Gamescom interview. Yes, that’s what I said. During my past interviews, I guess something glitched in my head… So when he asked me about this question and mentioned GPUs – because it was a low-end GPU we were targeting at that time.

because then the only keyword is FPS from his side Indeed. And for some reason myself intended to answer nearly like ‘around 35 FPS or so,’” Lukyanenka said He also provided a little bit of reassurance to the fans: “Within our team, we are working hard in that respect and broadly speaking regarding optimization on Series S-it’s already ongoing.
There are still compartments of the game where it dips below target slightly, but on average STALKER 2 runs at around 34-36 FPS. Our target is to hit at least 30 FPS in any part of the Zone on Series S.

After this mistake, WCCFTech updated their article to show the accurate specifications and revised it as follows: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is playable on Xbox Series X in two different modes with a Performance Mode (60 FPS) at an average graphics level or Quality Mode for maximum resolution textures and reflections but limited to only 30 fps.
Several days ago we put up one of our year-end lists regarding games running above native resolutions hitting nearly no clarity over motion video however without citing any references that could damage gamers was used by me. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S is getting a performance-vs-fidelity-optimized experience of its own that’s running at approximately 35 FPS.
Though we were confused at first, GSC Game World is convinced that the game will still hit its performance targets before launch. We continue to drive optimization and focus on performance for our Xbox Series S target.™ “~S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
TL;DR: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be available on Nov. 20, 2024, for Xbox Series X|S and Windows platforms via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG. This game will be available on Day One through Game Pass as well.
This remains a work in progress, but you should experience nothing short of buttery smooth performance across all consoles once optimization reaches the end product.
