With the almost release of Star Wars Outlaws excitement has been growing around a game that lets you live in the SW universe.
The original announcement of Ubisoft’s surprise Star Wars game focusing on scoundrel Kay Vess, rather than the typical Jedi or Sith story you might expect has been a welcome ray of light in video games based across the galaxy. With the reviews now landing, one question stands above all others: has Dreams lived up to its hype?

Mostly!: This is, for the most part, accurate says Metacritic At the time of writing, the PS5 version has a Metascore of 77 while the PC version is on 78.
The biggest issue, and why the game likely has a 7.0 from an aggregate point of view (among over 50 PS5-only reviews that have been counted), is not at all up to snuff compared with these other Ratchet games except it’s perfectly good in its own right agree the critics.
The game excels with its in-depth world, memorable characters, and mission-based gameplay. Even a stream of reviewers found that it had the best voice acting in Star Wars history and one or two hailed this “game of the generation” for their favorite IP as a whole in years.
Star Wars Outlaws stands on its own as a uniquely worthwhile experience, especially for these fans.
But not all reviews are positive. However, a few critics also mentioned that despite its scale in size the game often plays “by the numbers”, especially with regards to its storyline. Most of these reviewers say it “plays it safe” and keeps the game from being among iconic Star Wars titles.
As for technical issues and bugs, those have been similarly lamented with some comments suggesting that the game feels like another production from Ubisoft which Outlaws supposedly was not aiming to be.
The Reputation System, which some have criticized as very undercooked and not deep at all starred in various negative public reviews about the key gameplay features. Some also said that the gameplay can get a bit repetitive.
So, to sum up for now: good things seem to be coming from Star Wars Outlaws as well as its companion experience, but perhaps it isn’t the quantum leap that some thought was on the horizon.
As for the game itself, it sounds as though we have solid but not quite stellar Star Wars fare on our hands—a state of affairs bound to make would-be players cautious. Perhaps the best way to decide, instead of having everything ruined for you today is booting it up and trying what was mainly a resounding success with us such as playing Site 18 itself.
