The latest leaks on Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.5 have made this theory very possible, and a lot of players are speculating that Moze may not be completely who we think she is! I believe that these findings suggest a deeper layer to the game’s lore, and should hint at some kind of major change or new story beats coming down the line.
While we know that a new narrative involving the Wardance festival and common sentenced criminal Hoolay (whom is likely to be featured as an upcoming boss) has also been added, the game isn’t returning focus back specifically on Penacony this update. The teasers on Moze though, nobody saw those coming.

Moze’s True Identity Honkai: Star Rail 2.5 Brings Mozes to a Frontier Station Coming in v4.9, The Whole Story Unveil — Founding of the Capital【HonkaiStarRail #playlist】 on Post Execute
Finally, Team Mew leaked something on Reddit that could be an awesome Easter Egg around part of the last story missions from V. 2.5: Moze’s true identity; The leaks indicate Moze could be the alter ego for Caelorum Venti, is the secrecy of The Xianzhou Yaoqing ship’s leader Vidyadhara Elda. If this winds up being correct, the implication is that Moze may be more powerful than her default stats suggest… which has all sorts of far-reaching implications for well into future content.
Moze’s actual identity might mean a new 5-star character
That name: If he truly is Caelorum Venti, what part in Borderlands 3 does Moze play? Being a High Elder, Caelorum Venti possesses the same level of power as Imbibitor Lunae from the Luofu.
Moze Hot Moze is a 4-star rep, this may go to show that her current star value isn’t reflective of how the character was correctly created and balanced but possibly underpowered.
It seems certain at this point that Caelorum Venti will be rolled out as a 5-star character down the line (discarding his Moze disguise) and could even come into play as some form of Wind type, given how he is called Sovereign of Storms.
Past Releases Indicate Moze May Be Grown Into a More Well-rounded Character
This is evident in previous character releases, where HoYoverse unveils characters’ real forms and abilities. Take Dan Heng, for example. Dan Heng first came out as a 4-star character but weeks later he returned in full force to show you just how powerful the new Imbibitor Lunae was his sole transformation into Dan changes him completely and raises that level cap.
Turning a basic unit into such an amazing force is something that Moze could easily follow in developing herself up to her potential as Caelorum Venti.
What does this mean for the future of Honkai Star Rail?
If these leaks hold, then Moze being Caelorum Venti could bring the story of Honkai: Star Rail in fascinating directions. This could result in the release of a new, stronger 5-star character for players to strive after and it also signals that HoYoverse may continue to delve into unparalleled depths when it comes to its current characters – further buffing and diversifying an already incredibly dense game world.
While awaiting the official announcement or Version 2.5 live stream, these leaks have definitely made us more hyped for what’s new in Honkai: Star Rail Together with you!! And that’s just ONE explanation as to why we should be watching for updates—in the case of Moze…morphing into a new character.

Ho Yoverse is quite definitively showing a willingness to return and refresh previous Honkai characters in Star Rail. Most recently was a new Hunt form for March 7th. This version has the opposite abilities than March 7th, meaning he becomes DPS and an Imaginary DMG character who follows a Path of Hunting approach.
Even though this shift is quite drastic, she will still be a 4-star unit after the rework was done to show that they think about how old characters work and should evolve in Kenshin.
There have also been leaks hinting that there will be a Path-switching system for other characters coming in the future. We have already seen this with March 7th and Trailblazer would work the same way, being allowed older toons such as Kafka for a re-release under a new element/ Path.
It may allow players who already possess these characters to change the weight of their exterior kit giving More versatility for those times when one is useful & and another way more relevant. But if Caelorum Venti is a thing, then it seems more probable that his debut would be similar to Dan Heng – Imbibitor Lunae’s one as an entirely new form revealed in place of just being another Path switch.
Although we must always be cautious when it comes to leaks, if they prove true the signs are that Honkai: Star Rail will follow in its predecessor’s footsteps and keep on upping the stakes with stronger and more influential released characters a la this year’s powerhouse Emanator of Nihility Acheron.
