Deadlock A new hero shooter/MOBA hybrid from Valve Dealock With the game in closed beta, Deadlock is now approaching 100,000 concurrent players since launching in August 2024. Nevertheless, this promising beginning has not been mischief-free. The beta experience, however, has apparently been marred by cheaters entering the game.

In light of these concerns, Valve announced a strict anti-cheat system necessary to combat such a growing problem. On the game’s official Discord server, developer Yoshi announced that they have been working hard on another piece of software.

The idea here, of course, is to prevent others from cheating and allow for a level playing field. Yoshi also addressed an issue somebody on the forums asked about, that players can bind multiple actions to one key and he replied with “Our plan is to confine those in the not so distant future, once we have as many legitimate uses as people have added to the settings menu.”

Valve has emphasized cheating in recent months, suggesting that it is working hard to prevent cheaters from wrecking the game for others. Although its declined to adopt kernel-leve anticheat mechanisms – which have proven controversial among gamers in the past – Valve is now working on it. Everyone is waiting for follow-ups as to how effective these efforts will be, even if player cheaters and hackers have fair warning.

This one expands the minimap in the hero shooter/MOBA-like Deadlock and adds a low-priority queue for bad players. These changes are designed to enhance the player experience overall and address some of the feedback from the community.

A game that Valve fans have known of for many years, Deadlock has been kept off the books until this official unveiling in August.
